Techno-UMG Wins 2018 Automotive News PACE Award

Corporate
Techno-UMG was named a 2018 Automotive News PACE Award winner at an awards ceremony on April 9th in Detroit. The prestigious award recognizes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance. Newly named Techno-UMG is the result of an April 1, 2018 merger between Techno Polymer Co., Ltd and UMG ABS Ltd.

Techno-UMG was recognized for its patented HUSHLLOY™ brand of ABS plastics. Automotive plastic interior parts made with HUSHLLOY™ do not exhibit squeak and “stick/slip” noise when in contact with adjacent plastic parts. As a result, noise preventing plastic tapes, felt and greases are no longer necessary. HUSHLLOY™ also offers “drop in” usage (replaces general purpose ABS without need for tooling modifications) while maintaining low gloss and paintability.

“We believe that HUSHLLOY™ is truly a ‘game changer’ because it’s permanent no-squeak properties allow automakers more design flexibility while reducing interior assembly costs and quality issues”, commented Techno-UMG America President, Koji Negishi.

The 24th annual PACE Awards were presented by Automotive News, and the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA). The competition was open to suppliers who contribute products, processes, materials or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks. The Automotive News PACE Award is accepted around the world as the industry benchmark for innovation.

Techno-UMG America earned an Automotive News PACE Award following an extensive review by an independent panel of judges including a comprehensive written application and a site visit.
