Tokyo, Japan - June 15, 2015 - JSR Corporation (President: Mitsunobu Koshiba), along with its group company, JSR Life Sciences Corporation, today announced the commercial availability of its optimized line of ExoCap™ kits for exosome isolation and enrichment. This new version of ExoCap™ has been designed and optimized for use with serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants with optimized protocols for downstream assays.
Serum or plasma contain a lot of contaminants, consequently it is difficult to isolate exosomes. Our newly developed Treatment Buffer improves the isolation capability of exosomes from these samples.
ExoCap™ are complete kits based on the company's Magnosphere™ magnetic micro beads coated with a JSR Life Sciences proprietary hydrophilic polymer to decrease non-specific binding. Magnosphere™ has been used for automation systems of IVD companies. ExoCap™ kits consists of magnetic beads coupled with antibodies that recognize the exosome surface antigens CD9, CD63, CD81 and EpCAM, Treatment Buffer, Washing/Dilution Buffer, and Exosome Elution Buffer
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles secreted by most cell types and can be found in most biological fluids, including blood, urine, and cultured medium of cell cultures. Exosomes contain various molecular constituents of their cell of origin, including proteins and nucleic acids and is becoming increasingly important as a potential source of biomarkers for health and disease.
