On November 27, a competition for initial fire-fighting was held by the Fire Protection and Safety Association of the City of Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture. Participating in the fire engine category, the JSR Chiba Plant competed for superiority in the time and skill for initial fire-fighting.

Consisting of full-time fire-fighting members and special fire-fighting members, the Chiba Plant team won an award of excellence in recognition of their quick response and high-level skills.
