JSR Chiba Plant wins Japan Chemical Industry Association “Responsible Care Award”

At an award ceremony held during its 22nd annual meeting on May 29, the Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) announced the winners of its Responsible Care Award (the “RC Award”), with JSR’s Chiba Plant one of four winners selected from among more than ten nominees nationwide. The RC Award is given to individuals and groups who have made noteworthy contributions to implementing and promoting responsible care activities.

The award to the Chiba Plant this year was in recognition of its having reduced CO2 emissions by 16.6% (or 33% in terms of CO2 emission intensity) in fiscal 2012, ended March 2012 compared to fiscal 1991, ended March 1991 levels, despite a 25% increase in production volume, an achievement that resulted from the plant’s ongoing energy-saving activities.

The JSR Chiba Plant was also represented at the JCIA Symposium 2013 that followed on May 30, with a presentation by the head of its Maintenance Planning Department.
