Tokyo, Japan, April 15, 2013 - JSR Corporation (JSR; headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Mitsunobu Koshiba) and NEC Corporation (NEC; headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Nobuhiro Endo) have formed a strategic alliance for IT services and reached an agreement that NEC will acquire part of the stock of the JSR Group’s information system company.

On May 1, 2013, JSR will split up the information system section of JSR Business Services Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Satoru Tsuji), a JSR Group subsidiary company wholly owned by JSR, and then transfer 60% of the new company’s stock to NEC. The name of the new company will be JN System Partners Co., Ltd.

With this alliance, JSR will advance its IT base for the entire JSR Group and enhance its global competitiveness to achieve objectives of the mid-term business plan “JSR20i3”, which was formed to move JSR into its envisioned position in year 2020. On top of utilizing NEC’s cloud, big data, security, and other advanced information communication technologies, and system establishment know-how, JSR will promote human resources development through interaction with IT service personnel at NEC, including the introduction of training programs.

Through JN System Partners Co., Ltd., NEC will form a new partnership contributing to reinforcement of the JSR Group’s management ability, and strive to further expand its solution business, including outsourcing.
