Regarding Fire at the Yokkaichi Plant (11/19/2012 Follow-Up Report)

CORPORATE 11/19/2012
We apologize again for the worry and trouble caused by the fire that broke out in the band dryer of our emulsion polymerization styrene-butadiene rubber (E-SBR) production line in our Yokkaichi Plant at 10:13pm on November 15, 2012.

The Yokkaichi Labor Standards Inspection Office performed the second inspection of the site of the fire today.

The site preservation orders that had been issued for the band dryer in question were lifted as a result of today’s inspection. Now that all site preservation orders have been lifted, we will restart the parts of the plant that had been stopped.

We will continue to investigate the cause of the fire with the help of the Yokkaichi City Fire Department.
