Regarding Support of the Disaster Areas through Application of JSR Materials

CSR 10/01/2012
From September 2011 to May 2012, JSR applied a heatshield paint including its product SIFCLEAR™ to 88 temporary housing facilities in Oshima, Kesennnuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. The project is a part of the company's effort to support disaster areas from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake through the application of JSR materials.

While the victims of the disaster are undergoing many hardships, SIFCLEAR™ is contributing to the improvement of their living environment by lessening the rise of indoor temperatures during summer due to the strong sunlight.

When confirming the effect of the SIFCLEAR™ at the site which reached sweltering temperatures this summer, JSR employees received comments including, "I was able to get by with only the dehumidifier and didn't have to use the air conditioner."

This application of JSR materials comes after three rounds of employee volunteering held in the same disaster area, Oshima, Kesennuma City.

The JSR Group pledges to continue to contribute to society making use of its proprietary technologies.
