On 13 November 2009, JSR Corporation's Chiba Plant was awarded a Silver Order of Merit from the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS), in recognition of its numerous contributions to the organization. In the past, the plant was recognized for its generous blood donations and received an award from JRCS.
In addition to the Chiba Plant (which received the award), blood donations have been taken at both the Yokkaichi and Kashima Plants. In December 2009, blood donations were taken at the headquarters in Tokyo and many employees (including those from the JSR Group companies) showed their co-operation and became donors.
JSR intends to continue implementing social contribution activities.
