JSR Group's volunteer activities for reconstruction assistance to areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake (Follow-up report)

JSR Group provided restoration/reconstruction assistance to areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake after calling for volunteers from among its employees. This initiative was conducted in July and September to November of last year.
The current program was implemented as a collective action conducted by the United Nations Global Compact Japan Network in collaboration with Civic Force and other signatory companies. The outline of the program is as follows:

1. Location: Oshima, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture
2. Period: A total of 3 sessions from February to March 2012 (5 days and 4 nights per session)
3. Number of participants: 22 throughout the above period (voluntary participation with volunteers using their accumulated holidays)
* Total number of participants: 203 (July, September to November 2011, February and March 2012)
4. Details: Removal of debris in disaster-affected areas under direction of the local disaster countermeasures office, fisheries restoration assistance activities, etc.
