Workshop on Great East Japan Earthquake Volunteer Activities

JSR, in cooperation with the other member companies of the UN’s Global Compact Japan Network (GCJN) planned a volunteer program as a part of GCJN’s Collective Action which was implemented by employees from each company from September to November 2011.
Program participants held a discussion on December 5th to reflect on their activities in this program and consider future activities. The lively debate covered many topics, including what is needed at the disaster area, types of possible volunteer activities, and what corporations can do for the continued recovery of the disaster area.
Attendees included employees from every participating company and JSR’s employee in charge of CSR as well as JSR’s partners in the program, the non-profit organization Civic Force and the head office of the UN Global Compact Network.
The JSR Group will continue to conduct volunteer activities in the disaster area.
