JSR Volunteer Activities Supporting Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake

After its July volunteer program in which 120 employees participated, the JSR Group executed another volunteer program from September to November supporting the relief and reconstruction efforts in the disaster area of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Placing an emphasis on sustainability, JSR conducted this most recent program in cooperation with the non-profit organization Civic Force, also working together in collective action with other signatory companies of the UN Global Compact Japan Network.
Volunteer Program Details:
JSR will continue these volunteer activities in 2012 as well.

Volunteer Program Details:
1. | Volunteer site: Oshima Island, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture |
2. | Volunteer term: Seven sets of five-night, six-day terms, three times a month from 9/18/2011 to 11/25/2011. |
3. | Number of participants: 63 (taking time off using the volunteer vacation option) |
4. | Volunteer activities: Removing rubble from the beach under the direction of the local headquarters for disaster control, picture cleaning, making sandbags and aquaculture rafts, etc. |
JSR will continue these volunteer activities in 2012 as well.
