JSR Yokkaichi Plant Accepts Two Middle School Students for Work Experience Program

CSR 11/30/2011
As a part of its activities towards social contribution, the JSR Yokkaichi Plant hosted three second-year Yokkaichi Utsube Junior High School students to participate in a work experience program from November 16th to 18th, 2011.

The students experienced work in the Training and Recycling centers in addition to other workplaces, participated in firefighting drills and off-premises patrols, and even patrolled within the plant as "Plant Manager for the Day." The two students who visited this time became interested in the program after meeting JSR employees who are active locally and who told them about the program and JSR.

It seems that by participating in the program, the students learned what it means to work and also gained experienced useful for deciding what they want to do in the future. We also think that we were able have the students understand what JSR does and that JSR operates with top priority on the environment and safety.

The Yokkaichi Plant has been cooperating in work experience programs for junior high students in Yokkaichi City since 2007 and also welcomed two second-year students from Yokkaichi Municipal Minami Junior High School in September 2011.
