JSR Employees Donate Food and Water to 2HJ Food Bank

CSR 09/30/2011
Every September, employees of the JSR Headquarters and its group companies located in the same building review their emergency supplies in recognition of Disaster Preparedness Day (Sep. 1). Every employee at JSR Headquarters keeps a stock of five bottles of water and five cans of a long-lasting canned biscuit product called Kanpan and receives a new can and bottle every year. Until last year, employees dealt with their old cans by snacking on them, but per employee request, JSR has begun donating extra water and Kanpan with at least a month left before their expiration dates to the Second Harvest Japan food bank (2HJ).

Second Harvest Japan accepts donations from corporations and farms that handle food as well as from individuals and sends them to organizations that can distribute them effectively.
