On April 22, staff members of JSR Yokkaichi Plant visited Yokkaichi Municipal Mihama Elementary School to deliver a science seminar for 22 sixth-grade students as a part of an original program previously developed with the cooperation of Yokkaichi City. At the seminar, students participated in an emulsion polymerization experiment that produced synthetic rubber. At the environmental lecture that followed, staff members explained to students that the waste fluid generated during the experiment would be taken back to the plant and released into a river after being purified so as not to harm any river life.

JSR will continue to organize educational events like these in the future.
