Current Status of JSR's Business Operations (As of May 20th)

Below is a report of the current status of JSR's business operations, as of May 20th (Fri), as a result of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
| 1. | Chiba Plant (located in Ichihara City, Chiba) |
| The manufacturing facilities at the Chiba Plant are under normal operations as previously reported. | |
| 2. | Kashima Plant (located in Kamisu City, Ibaraki) |
| Our main raw material supplier resumed production on May 20th and raw materials are now available. Today, we start the production of EP rubber (ethylene propylene rubber) and other products, which had been stopped. We are back on line and able to manufacture all products. We will make the utmost efforts to expand our production for the stable supply of our products. |
