About a Fatal Accident of our Employee at Yokkaichi Plant

JSR Corporation is deeply saddened by the loss of life resulting from the accident at its Yokkaichi Plant and extends its sincere condolences to family, friends and loved ones.
On July 23, 2014, a fatal accident involving one of our employees occurred during operations at JSR Corporation's Yokkaichi Plant.
Information currently available is as follows:
- The accident occurred on July 23, 2014 around 12:25 pm
- The accident occurred at the synthetic rubber (emulsion polymerization SBR) manufacturing facility of the Yokkaichi Plant
- A 19-year-old employee was trapped by manufacturing equipment.
- The employee was rescued and immediately transferred to the hospital where he was later confirmed dead.
At the present time, the cause of the accident is not known and, therefore, JSR Corporation is fully cooperating with relevant authorities on the investigation and will implement appropriate measures in line with authorities' instructions. Again, JSR Corporation is deeply saddened by this event and will work to make every effort to ensure safety in our operations.
