Reason for Change Since assuming office in June 2001, incumbent Representative Director and President Yoshinori Yoshida has striven to reinforce management foundations by vigorously promoting innovations in the business structure, such as by expanding the petrochemical and electronics materials businesses. To accelerate a shift in business structure amid a rapidly changing management environment, and to strive for further leaps forward, effective April 1, 2009, when the latter half of the midterm management plan "JUMP 2010" starts, the changes listed below will take effect in order to rejuvenate management and to further solidify and strengthen its structure. 2.
