JSR Corporation (President: Yoshinori Yoshida) commenced the second phase construction of JSR Micro Taiwan (JSR's wholly owned subsidiary; Location: Central Taiwan Science Industrial Park, Yunlin Base, Taiwan). JSR Micro Taiwan currently manufactures color pigment dispersed resists for liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and will begin the production of protective coatings and photosensitive spacers in autumn 2007. Additionally, the Company will add laboratories and production lines for samples, and strengthen its technical support system for customers in Taiwan. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on December 1, 2006.
The market for flat-screen televisions is forecasted to grow by over 20% p.a. by 2010 due to active demand. Large panel manufacturers in Taiwan have decided to invest extensively. Consequently, Taiwan, along with South Korea and Japan, will lead the global panel market in the medium to long term. The second phase construction of the plant facilities in JSR Micro Taiwan will increase the production capacity of LCD materials and enhance the range of product lineups. The Company strives to expand its development functions and strengthen its technical support system.
